British Cycling looking for volunteers in Lancashire
Are you passionate about getting your local community on a bike? Want to volunteer with British Cycling in Lancashire?
British Cycling is looking for confident cyclists to train as British Cycling Ride Leaders for a new led ride programme, HSBC UK Guided Rides. You don’t need to be a cycling expert or competitive racer, just be confident riding in a group and have a good level of cycling fitness. They welcome all kinds of cyclists as long as you have heaps of enthusiasm and you’re happy to support beginner bike riders and families.
British Cycling is putting on two free, one-day Ride Leader training courses:
- Chorley: Saturday 29th July Parklands High School, Southport Road, Chorley, Lancashire PR7 1LL
- Preston: Saturday 2nd September Sir Tom Finney Community High School, Ribbleton Hall Drive, Preston, PR6 2EE
The assessed one-day course qualifies you to deliver guided bike rides for groups of beginner and intermediate level adults and accompanied children on roads and cycle paths. They will also provide you with branded kit, British Cycling Ride membership and on-going support to help you on your way.
For more information and to apply for a place on a free course, please visit www.letsride.co.uk/volunteers
If you are unable to attend any of these dates or locations please complete the expression of interest form available at the above link and you will be notified of other courses in the future.
